It’s not immediately clear if the Apache’s turbines ingested shrapnel from shooting down the drone or was just extremely unlucky and one ran into it but this wouldn’t be the first time a helicopter was lost trying to intercept shaheed style drones.

I don’t know, it seems like a dumb idea to expect Iran not to shoot at US forces flying too close to their territory when the US is at war with Iran and fighting with them over control of the Strait of Hormuz, especially given how shaky the supposed ceasefire with Iran has been.
Er… it says a Shahed shot down the Apache, unless they got a bunch of upgrades we don’t know about (possible I guess), a Shahed can’t shoot down anything. The pilot would have had to actively put himself on a collision course, or somehow exploded the thing while being right next to it.
