Tempting fate – I remember the last time a post on here celebrated 0 arrivals…the day after we had like +500.
When the weather settles towards the end of the week, there will probably be hundreds every day, just as there was during the heatwave.

Which is exactly why it’s not people coming here that is in the spotlight now, it’s the people who have already arrived that are the bad guys.
I’m convinced Farage and Reform aim to make this country a safe haven for the wealthy only.

What, you mean is possible to accomplish something without withdrawing from the ECHR and sacrificing all our hard won freedoms?

What do you a gov who said they’d act on this has acted on this

Have people already forgotten about the arrest of Kardo Jaf.? He is suspected of being a key player in an Iraqi Kurdish network that has controlled the **majority of illegal cross-Channel journeys** in recent years.

Well, good. It’s probably mostly weather and numbers are still unacceptably high over the year as a whole, but if moves against smugglers and the threat of being sent back to France are starting to dissuade people from trying, excellent news.

Belgium also had 0 departures for the month of May because they immediately clamped on the people supplying the boats and equipment for crossing the channel with the help of the German authorities.
While we’ve paid France a few hundred million to say ’no…stop… please don’t… oh well‘

Right and last week it was 654, do you actually think this has been solved overnight? I’ll be the first to celebrate if so
Perfect_Pudding8900 on
For comparison last week was 654.
Last year for the same weeks those numbers were 1195 and 918.

To be fair, the weather hasn’t been great….
I wonder what super el nino will do to the channel
It doesn’t matter. They want millions deported now.
First 6 months of year are down something like 40% on same period last year IIRC
Illegal immigration is solved through zero new laws and zero new rules and zero extra enforcement
Wonder if linked to this also, disrupting operations.
