      I saw MAGAts flipping out as soon as local news reported on YouTube that Raman had gone ahead of Bratt (yes, I mean that). They seriously think Democrats are stealing the LA mayoral election and think it’s impossible for a Republican to fall behind two Democrats. Um, in LA, CA. Morons.

      I think the reporting around election results is toxic. The result did not „flip“. There was only ever one outcome. Preliminary results need to just be banned by law and only the final result reported. It does not matter at all whether a vote is counted the day of the election or after it. This type of premature reporting just encourages the „red mirage“ bullshit.

      The race did not flip. Nothing should be reported until all ballots are counted, so we do not get headlines like this. CA is a blue state. Land does not vote. All those maps showing all the red should not be used. They should be using the maps with the bubbles that are larger the bigger the population. That way Republicans don’t get the wild idea that they are going to win. Especially in today’s political climate where the right is literally voting for lunatic fascists, like Hilton and Bianco.

      Man there is so much wrong with this headline. As many others have pointed out, the race didn’t “flip”. And Raman is hardly a socialist. She’s a member of the DSA but her policies aren’t anywhere near someone like Mamdani
