India as well – the twin city of Hyderabad in the south is named Secundrabad, literally “the city of Alexander”.

    2. There are two cities called Sikandrabad & Secunderabad in India and I thought they were after Alexander since he is called Sikander in hindi-urdu but I got to know those were some other rulers. Basically Alexander was called Iskander in west asia, which led to the word Sikander in Farsi meaning warrior. This became a more general title for muslim rulers to take in the Indian Subcontinent. And there are two cities named after two such Sikanders so yea fun fact ig?? ☕️✨️

    3. There is also a town in Kosovo, Skenderaj. It is named after Albanian lord, Skenderbeg, who got the name after Alexander the great.

Secunderabad, India is named after Sikandar Jah, who was named after Alexander the Great, so technically its named after Alexander?

    5. There are like 10+ cities in the US named Alexandria… am I missing something here? Or is this map just extremely wrong.
