Experts understand Trump is compromised.
How could anyone be „mystified“ at this point? It’s all quite clear.
If the „experts“ are mystified at this, then they’re not experts in basic human behavior. Dear Leader loves Putin. Thus, he hates Zelensky. Because of his psychopathy of always having to be „winning“, Dear Leader gets really annoyed when he is forced to acknowledge any advantage Ukraine might have, even if t would help the US. It’s really just basic narcissism writ large. All this is magnified by Dear Leader’s rapidly-advancing dementia, of course.
No *actual* expert is mystified by that.
He is trying to figure out how to set it up so him and his friends can steal money that goes to this project. Look at who his role models are.
He’s been compromised by Putin and Xi. It’s not a mystery.

This drone deal would help protect American troops:

Why would Ukraine want a deal with the U.S., a country that will use Ukraine’s own expertise in this area against it. All information will flow effortlessly back to Moscow.

All of Trumps problems started when Zelenskyy refused to investigate Hunter Biden and people heard the “perfect phone call”. At least in Trumps mind.

Trump’s a man of very limited intellect and rigid thought patterns. He’s a zero sum guy; he is fatally dependant on external based self esteem and the only kind of deal he can make is I win, you loose. Zelinksi is quite literally offering him a deal he can’t accept; the deal is good for America but Trump sees accepting as personal defeat.
I am unsure if the Ukrainian drones fit into the US military/industrial system.
In Ukraina, the drones are modified in the ftont line like balancing the battery and warhead weight depending on tareget, strike distance and previous strike results. This gives the Ukrainian soldiers a large degree of freedom and responsibility.
I read that some US drone manufacturers will not allow any unauthorized modifications to their drones. From this I just csnnot see USA implementing a successful drone warfare doctrine.
