      Someone should tell Jared that their is an island up for grabs in the US Virgin Islands. It was previously owned by a friend of his father-in-law and would be a suitable place for his family to build a resort.

      Doing some more research into that island I highly doubt they bought it to make a resort. That island is fully militarized from decades of occupation by Russian, Italian, and Albanian forces. It has underground bunkers, tunnels and even submarine paddocks. It located at a vital choke point on the Adriatic Sea. I guess anything is possible but there have to be other islands better suited for a resort.

      You can steal much more easily when the thing you are stealing isn’t a beloved national coastline.

      You steal with intangibles. Import licenses, tarrrif exceptions, construction subcontracting. Most easily, as it’s happened many times for billions of dollars and everyone knows it happening but yet it keeps happening anyways – 15 minutes warnings of market-moving Trump announcements.

      Albania wants desperately to join the EU. In order to do it, they need to align with US regarding Israel. The “road to Brussels leads through Tel Aviv” is how some outlets describe it. Albania is a poor, weak country that usually tries to align with a greater power due to its history of invasion and colonialism. They don’t feel they got much from the USSR. So they want to align with the west, the US, and join the EU. So they’ve been directed to align with Israel and to join Donald Trump’s “Board of Peace.” So that’s what tne leaders have done. But Albanians themselves are not crazy about this. The country is mostly Muslim. Turkey has been building mosques in Albania.

      The island the Kushners are interested in is fairly strategic between the Adriatic and Ionic Sea. It is rumored to have tunnels and thousands of nuclear bunkers. The people of Albania do not really want an American Israeli joint ownership of their island and say that development has already harmed wetlands, dunes and forests. It really does have unique flora and fauna and has been open to the public for many years. The public is now going to be displaced from their own island so it can be developed into what will basically be a Trump resort and possibly have US and Israeli military bases.

      It will be interesting to see if Albanians can ultimately resist the power of US and Israel to basically take possession of their island. Their leader is determined not to upset Trump in any way.

      “Prime Minister Edi Rama of Albania condemned the guards‘ actions as „disgusting,“ but fiercely defended the resort project as the country’s ticket to the „Champions League“ of global tourism. He asserted that five top international architecture firms are redesigning the masterplan to safeguard the environment, emphasizing that the lagoon itself will not be touched.
      Rama also defended the foreign backers of the project, while validating the investigation into the local land sellers.
      „The investors are within their rights. Blocking the transaction is arbitrary and negative,“ Rama said. „However, blocking the transfer of money to the owner who is under suspicion is welcome. If the investigation finds that there are individuals who have fraudulently claimed ownership, the money should go to those who are the legitimate owners.”

      Also:

      “The preventive seizure, ordered by the Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime, targeted Albania Land Development amid a widening investigation into allegedly fraudulent property titles. The company, owned by the prominent Qatari entrepreneurs Moutaz and Ramez Al-Khayyat, recently purchased beachfront plots in Zvërnec. The protected coastal area along the Adriatic Sea, near the southern city of Vlora, is where Kushner’s investment firm, Affinity Partners, plans to build an elite mega-resort.”

      Honestly the choice of using a Dragon Ball Z style sign to protest a shady billionaire resort project is absolute gold. You have to love seeing a country completely refuse to be pushed around or compromised by high profile foreign real estate plays. Freezing those assets send a massive message that nobody is untouchable. Hopefully the investigators dig all the way to the bottom of this probe because the local population clearly deserves transparency.

      Good because this entire thing is insane. Whoever “owns” that island controls the straight. This isn’t just a “luxury resort,” It’s a major power play and it is nuts. Look up what already exists on that island, also. I don’t feel like typing a novel but it’s veeeerrryyy interesting.

      My wife is from Albania. So we’ve been following this whole island thing for years actually. Kind of crazy to see it escalate like this on the world stage lol
