So this is the lady that replaced the previous president who was booted after celebrating Charlie Kirk’s death?
The Oxford Union sure does know how to pick them.

*In a conversation about Hamas with other students on the group that has been seen by the BBC, Elrayess said: „Any resistance group will inevitably be deemed a ‚terrorist‘ organisation by the West until they achieve their liberation (by which time, they’ll be lauded as heroes, as history has repeatedly proven).“*
*In a later message, she said: „I think the severity of resistance is often proportional to the severity of oppression.*
*“This is not to justify anything, but just to point out that it’s quite rich to allow for decades of systematic oppression and massacres, only to act shocked when the resistance movement responds with proportional severity.“*
*After being criticised in the group for this comment, she said: „In fact, some would argue it’s less than proportional.“*
*She then added: „Proportional does not mean ‚right‘ by the way, just that [you] can’t be shocked that it happened.“*
From the article:
“Arwa Elrayess, the first Palestinian to lead the prestigious debating society, described Hamas’s October 7 attack as „proportional“ in leaked messages from a student WhatsApp group”.
Oxford Union with its finger on the pulse as ever /s
Is that before or after they yeet their rivals from rooftops?

Well, she’s not really wrong that history is generally kind to victors and if Hamas were successful in establishing control over the area they would probably at some point start being talked about as liberators rather than terrorists.
It’s still a rather silly thing to say in reference to a widely considered evil group, knowing such a statement could easily be taken as support for said group.
Also not sure about her examples, are the IRA lauded as heroes by anyone outside of fervent Irish republicans and cosplaying Americans?
Wow! Rape as a weapon of war is “proportional” ?!?!
These fucking people. We really should listen when they tell us who they are.
Moronic student University Groups and supporting terrorist groups wutta shock.
The problem with Oxford students is they think they’re so clever that they think they’re always right, whatever idiotic opinions their childish minds latch onto.
A list of past Oxford Union Presidents:

Boris Johnson was one, so was William Rees-Mogg (Jacob’s father) and Michael Foot.
Damn, no wonder Hasan Piker wanted to speak there. Terrorists lovers unite, I guess.
Islamic extremists aren’t heroes. Ever. I don’t give a shit if they’re fighting for a country. They aren’t the good guys. Their views are abhorrent. They throw people off buildings, stone women that they believe to be adulterers, hang or shoot LGBTQ people.
No. Sick and tired of them being portrayed as freedom fighters. Look at the morality police in Iran or the rights women have lost in Afghanistan. That’s because of extremists.
And it’s genuinely sad for regular Muslims who want to just live like normal.
