Is Greenland the only region shown separately from the sovereign country?

Had to look it up – that is crazy that Canada got a high of 49.6, that’s like Arabic Gulf temperatures.

The stability of the tropics and very impressed that Chile with the Atacama had never reached 48º.

well, in Italy you go from the glacier of the Alps to African style islands in the south

This map does not look accurate at least since the early 70s. Thailand has had days above 48C and I do not believe Canada was above 48C.

    6. In my city, the temperature can drop to -48 in winter and rise to +48 in summer in the same year.

This year Vietnam will probably hit more than 48C.

In fact, in some of the cities here it’s probably already hit this a few years back due to the urban heat island effect.

I got it a very strange anomaly so technically it happened 3 times. I don’t think it defines canadas weather. Also I experienced similar anomalies in the Sputheast US but would not say it’s the weather in the area Additionally I have also experienced over 48C in Southeast Asia and anomalies in Shanghai. So while the map is technically correct it needs a statement that it includes rare anomalies.

The lows in Italy and Austria have been recorded in dolines, though. The lowest recorded temperature on an Austrian mountain peak was a relatively mild -37 degrees.

Such a fine day to live in the southern hemisphere. Heat sucks, but snow sounds miserable

Hmmm. Chile and Argentina are hard to believe that aren’t that cold in the extreme south and the Andes, but realy, only -39 and -37.

      Turkey very close too:

      Highest temperature 50.5 °C and lowest -46.4 °C

Where I live in Ontario a few years ago we had -40 and 45 just 5 months apart

    14. It’s weird that there’s a wide band of equatorial countries that haven’t hit 48 but many countries north and south of them have. Is the presence of a desert a bigger driver of peak temperature than direct sunlight?

Doesnt anyone else hate when others or local news useses the term ‚Wind chill“ When it does not even exist?

I refuse to believe that so many countries on the equator haven’t reached 48°C until now.

-48 degrees is when people in Russia just starting closing their toilet windows
