They wanted rid of him because he wanted to sell their oil to foreign countries using gold instead of dollars. I’m sure there’s a better way of explaining this but that’s the basic gist. They had to get rid of him. He also forewarned about the influx of illegal immigrants flooding Europe without him in power. Gaddafi and Libya is the textbook example of why world powers shouldn’t go around assassinating and deposing the leaders of sovereign nations.
As bad as Gaddafi was, and the man was a monster, Libya was undeniably better off with him in charge than the anarchy taking place there now. The NATO support for Libyan revolutionaries was shortsighted and is a direct causal factor of the horrific conditions there now.

You know, the country who has been destabalising Iran since the 50s as well as all the other countries in the middle east and Asia since then end of WWII.
The Terrorist States of America is the only one of 33 first world countries with NO universal healthcare and free education unlike say here in the UK and Europe.
Unfortunately when you topple a strong dictator you are often left with hundreds of smaller would be dictators who want to take his place and have his power for themselves. The infighting and the civil wars between themselves can wreck and destroy the country. And while this is all happening you get thousands of evil scum bags taking advantage of this situation and the lack of law by doing what the hell they want. None of them care about the fact that it is destroying their country and destroying honest people’s lives. All they are interested in is what they can get out of it and to hell with everyone else. That is why great thought needs to be given before a foreign power decides to oust a dictator. It is often better for a country with the devil you know. At least as is shown here, with such a dictator in place , there is a semblance of law and order and civilised behaviour. Take that head away and chaos may ensue. I feel so sorry for the millions of rank and file average people in these situations who have their lives totally destroyed by a decision taken hundreds of miles away not even in their own country. These people who make these decisions deciding on a whim the fate of another country have a lot to answer to and I personally believe that one day they will.
Be for real… life was better in the West when Gaddafi was alive.
I’ll say the same thing I said the last time a Gaddafi-glazing post hit this sub. Look at how his people treated him when they got a hold of him. That doesn’t seem like a beloved benevolent leader to me.
