If she’s employed in 6 months, I want to know. People get exceptions all the time and then get fired over some tiny, unrelated thing so the company can hire someone without them.

    2. I found her on LinkedIn and she works for FanDuel. No religious objection to gambling?

    3. As an atheist, this is the first time I’ve felt interested in joining the Catholic church.

I’m just curious why this sub, the technology sub of all places, is so anti-ai? Seems weird to me.

Edit: see? Simple question, downvoted to oblivion lol. I triggered the tech sub hive mind I guess. Jesus.

Sounds like a very good way of being jobless and unhireable for a long time. At the very least she’s going to be behind the skill curve in a period where we have more software engineers then we do jobs.

Reached out to my closest chapel… per the usual, no response. I really want to know more, but maybe they’re busy.

    7. Bro, finally a good comeback for ai mandates. I can’t use it because it contravenes my Christian beliefs.

    8. A spaceship full of hyper intelligent aliens is arriving to earth in 3 years. They don’t get tired or sick. They don’t take vacation. They work 24/7.

If that were happening society would be apoplectic. Instead we’re cheering this shit on.

The reality is you’re gonna either have to learn to use AI at your job you’re gonna be replaced by someone who will.

    10. AI tools aren’t going anywhere. Not learning how to utilize AI for the tasks that it is actually good at is a great way to become obsolete. Which is kind of ironic really.

    11. I work in tech and I would absolutely love it if AI didn’t exist. That being said, it does and it does make you more productive.

I would have absolutely no problem with any employee that didn’t leverage AI but was just as productive as those that did, I just don’t see it happening.

    12. She’s not even Catholic. Her employer didn’t want to deal with the hassle at this point. The Pope would have to say it from the chair of St. Peter for it to be doctrine. I still think we a good distance away from being able to make this choice at scale.

This is a slippery slope. Soon there will be Kim Davises everywhere!

    14. You can hate on it all you want but LLMs are the „killer app“ of the AI era. It’s like saying.. No I won’t use digital spreadsheets.
