There was an Upham attacking Dog sector on Omaha Beach? That’s a nice detail from Saving Private Ryan.
Recently visited Omaha Beach. It’s so hard to imagine the carnage. But the memories remain strong and I was not yet born for 30 years when it happened. It’s amazing how the collective conscious of such a bloody tragedy persists so long after the last round was shot, across generations.
I want to make sure that everyone knows that Canada, with its population of 7 people and 100 moose, took Juno beach.
The US and the UK only stormed 2 beaches each, and the US got held up on one. Our amazing Canadian allies took Juno, and they didn’t even say sorry.
Why this map is upside down? I mean, I see the directions are shown but what is a reason showing this this way?
