      Comparing Net Worth to GDP is meaningless; it’s a category error.

      It was only 8 years ago that the first company in history passed 1 trillion net worth. Now one man is almost at that level of net worth.

      Agree with other comments: net worth isnt comparable to gdp. If you want to compare on average how much his net worth increased each year in the last few years, that would be more comparable. This post is like comparing his entire net worth to someone’s annual salary.

      2 completely diferent numbers. Not even close.

      You need to compare the assets less liabilities of these countries. Also, they collect income via taxes. They aren’t taxed. If Elon tried to liquidate he would likely pay upwards of 50% of his net worth in taxes.

      So Elon Musk can spend his entire lifetime savings on all the things that Austria produces in just 1 year. It’s not that big of a deal if you think about it.
