I like the instrumental but this reminds me of OnlyOneOf the way the constant breathiness of the vocals (if that’s even an English word) make the song not nearly as enjoyable as it should.
The bridge when the 2 members sing full out is the only part I truly like because of it
I know breathiness (again idk English) is historically cunty in pop music but it doesn’t always work

been following xlov since predebut era, so:
this song feels a bit weak to be the title track, it’s lacking something that would make it stand out. definitely a grower, but i feel like masterpiece would make a better title track

Masterpiece of note!! 2:45 had me reaching another state! Now I gotta watch this frame by frame, just to appreciate the mv

Wow – I really love it. The MV & sound feels like such a celebration of Xlov & what they represent.
The cut to Rui in the gold background – gorgeous.
I need to watch the MV a couple times to understand the story? What’s people’s interpretations of the girl – is it the members inner femininity they’re trying to crush & Wumuti kissing her on the head is when they accept themselves? Idk. Xlov just bring me so much joy.

Hm I’ll have to let this one marinate, the production is sounding a bit messy/noisey. I feel like there’s nothing for me to latch on to

song isnt quite hitting yet but I like what they’re going for

The styling is so good GOD. The chainmail costume and the regency-fantasy inspired outfits are so good. The makeup is also a step up from everything i’ve seen before and the sets are also GORGEOUS! Props to the MV team they really elevated the song

its like if 1&only and 404 (new era) had a secret love child and i’m absolutely here for it. I understand that some people might not like it because of how much of a different feel it has from all of XLOV’s other title tracks, but I quite like it! What I do fear though is that something similiar happens like with KATSEYE when gnarly went viral, they (or their company, per se) tried to lean into that hyperpop concept adn didn’t let KATSEYE explore their concept and abilities. Similiar thing now with XLOV because rizz was really popular, and when you look/listen to the lyrics for serve you’ll notice that more modernised (?) terminology and dialect (eg; one of rui’s lines being „i serve face“) so what I fear is that they lean into that concept adn can’t explore other concepts as a group. This can especially be bad since their group debuted pretty recently and you can tell by their music that they’re still exploring concepts.

sorry to disappoint but I have to say this song in my ears is a HIT! There’s something so different about it and it’s so addictive to me because of it.

First impressions, there’s something about the production or vocal direction that makes it a little hard to hear the member’s voices at times? Idk if I’m the only one with this issue
Serve reminds me of IVE’s Blackhole, where the song itself is objectively great but not as catchy or memorable as their other title tracks? The song seems like a grower though, so I’ll let the song marinate first
I really love how unique the MV and instrumental is! My favourite thing about xlov is how much they continue improving themselves each comeback, whether it be through their sound or concept

Also they’re crazy for the 30 second jazzy intro on this song, going to kill the streaming numbers unfortunately

they know exactly what they’re selling here and I’m BUYING IT DOWNNNN. fantastic track, looks, and choreo 10/10!

I need Rui to marry me… help lmao
Song feels a bit weak to me: I think a stronger chorus would’ve helped. But I love that they’re now in their house era! The perfect group to do so.
MV is absolutely stunning though, omg. They served LOOKS and BUDGET and PLOT! So so here for all of it.

I liked it from the start but I think the full choreo from the stage really makes it 100 times better 👌 and I gotta say I liked the other songs in the album even more, extancy and hips in particular are amazing 💙

i enjoyed the most of the song but the chorus is kind of a miss for me :(( especially when listening to the song with airpods the vocals in the chorus are fighting with the instrumental instead of standing out. also the transition into the chorus feels a little off?? also the english lyrics are really weak. but overall i think the song is good and it probably will grow on me. the b-sides are much better, which was the same case with their previous comeback. the mv and the visuals are so good tho, no notes on those.

They’re moving into the right sound, and the lyrics are almost there (still a lot of nonsense, but less nonsense), the choreography is great, but it is still not there fully. Because I love queer people, I’m always charitable to XLOV, so I know they can evolve beyond this and I can’t wait to see it.

this is fabulous. the song isn’t an immediate earworm but i feel like they’re pushing for a little something different structurally and i love that they’re bucking the recent 5th gen idol trend of releasing songs under 3:00 minutes.

Huge improvement since their last EP musically.
Also what in the IWTV is the mv? I love them , they are crazy.

This was everything omg!!! The message being that they went from being pawns to gods over their own selves, being able to be fully who they are! And are showing others (like han sohee in the vid) the way to do the same and empowering them to fight back for their own future… Just the most meaningful queer message about empowering yourself and existing as your true self despite the violence of the world! :'( <3
