The continent is grappling with a powerful heat dome, a persistent high-pressure system which acts like a lid on a pot, trapping hot air and pushing it downward. It can remain in place for days or even weeks and is a weather phenomenon made more likely and more intense by human-caused climate change.

I’m literally in „existing“-mode. Sleeping a few hours during the day so I can be awake at night, because that’s the only way I can do SOME things. Otherwise, my head is just in a state of lethargy and confusion. As someone who’s morbidly overweight, this is hell. Forecast says it’ll be 30°C til at least Sunday, so right now I’m hoping for Monday … and it’s only Wednseday …
Really sick of climate change deniers.

The media keeps calling it an „unprecedented record-smashing heatwave“ every single year now. at what point do we just accept that this is the new normal and our entire infrastructure is completely unequipped to handle it.

What heatwave? 13 degrees on the west coast of Sweden right now.

Oh no, if only we were warned about the effects of the constant burning of fossil fuels….. Anyway…. Moving on.

Don’t forget to complain about „all the money we waste on green bullshit“ on winter before you complain about the high temperatures on summer.
And this is just the beginning unless we get really really serious

Wait, it’s really that bad? Here it’s just a regular warm spell that’s not too uncommon for late May, really enjoying it even since my building hasn’t heated up a lot yet due to the cold weather earlier.
The only less common thing is that it lasts for longer than a day or two.

Its crazy how fast the temperature changes. We had rains and 10-15C for a week here in romania and now instant 30C.

So far I actually don’t think this is particulary bad? Yes, it’s too early in the year and I would prefer temperatures never going over 25° in general but this so far is very manageable…
But I really worry about July and August… The actual hot months.

Next summer I’m definitely getting AC.
Heat waves are getting too serious to not get one.

People in Europe need to start installing AC’s.
But over the coming days i’m sure you’ll see Americans be horrified that we do not have them, and when that happens you should show them [this map](https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hLpvSSZ49ow/VZQ4fCQFQRI/AAAAAAAAgH8/xMXhhNUiveQ/s1600/Overlay%2Bof%2BEuropean%2BCities%2Bonto%2BNorth%2BAmerica.jpg), and what it means to be 31c in Paris already.
