After more than 2,000 hours of government-imposed connectivity blackouts, there were signs on Tuesday that Iran’s internet is coming back—at least at very low levels.
Though some Iranian networks appeared to be connecting to the global internet on Tuesday, researchers cautioned that the level of access was far below even the partial restoration that Tehran allowed at the end of January and throughout February—and it was drastically below Iran’s typical baseline of global internet connectivity from December 2025. Internet monitoring experts at [Kentik](https://bsky.app/profile/eldomador.bsky.social/post/3mmr4sg6ojc24), [NetBlocks](https://bsky.app/profile/netblocks.org/post/3mmr2ag77js2a), and [Cloudflare](https://bsky.app/profile/dbelson.com/post/3mmr2lxzu7e2p) began documenting the partial restoration of connectivity in Iran beginning in the early afternoon local time on Tuesday.
“We do see some traffic coming from Iran,” says Amir Rashidi, a cybersecurity expert with the internet freedom organization Miaan Group. “Some providers have come back online, but it is still too early to say exactly what will happen. After the January protests, some providers were also reconnected, but around 50 percent of the country’s traffic remained down.”

This is the time for the global community and it tech leaders to finally take a stand and support the freedom loving people of Iran..Like in the past with most tech changes, the porn industry is going to have to lead the way. Iran is in a perfect position to have an Onlyfans revolution and free up thier society. Now that internet is coming back, thier population (they can wear headscarfs, brings in more money that way actually) can reject the current regimes societal demands of regular jobs and they population can inhabit the internet realms, raking in the dough from all the world wide supporters. Showing the world, the real beauty of a free iran..If they set up thier accounts correctly, none of the revenue(outside paying for internet) will go to this brutal regimes coffers. Starving them of thier very ability to pay the proxies in other countries. Within a few short months of steady Onlyfans production, the entire geopolitical situation in that area will look completely different..Just like when they introduced streaming porn and Times Square NYC suddenly cleared up and became a tourist destination instead of a JO haven..The internet will save Iran and its repressed people, If streaming porn could save NYC, then virtual porn can save the Middle East.

Iran’s more than 90 million citizens have been [without internet](https://www.wired.com/story/the-future-of-irans-internet-is-more-uncertain-than-ever/) for the overwhelming majority of 2026, between the current blackout that began on February 28, when [Israel and the United States attacked the country](https://www.wired.com/story/us-iran-strike-donald-trump/), and a previous internet shutdown enforced after widespread protests in January. The reconnection appears to have been ordered by officials in Iran’s government—but could only be temporary.
