More like they realize they only captured half the market on self care/makeup for women. So they made up some goofy shit to get influencable men to also consume

Please let them take all the experimental drugs they can, especially the dangerous ones.

This is why they keep getting it ***so fucking wrong*** and are confused when the public do a ‚massive backlash‘ at AI because the output quality is such poor quality and these fuckwits are so high on ketamine and the like they can’t understand the issue and think the output is ‚magical‘?

    4. Everyone that has worked for a few years in tech knows how ridiculous that headline is. Is it still „in secret“ if they don’t care? Also, it implies that it’s just billionaires, in reality those are common lunch-time discussions among people working in tech.

    5. Wait i thought they were all about essential biology and not transforming bodies

    6. Cocaine being the most common one. Turning them in ego maniacs who are the modern feudal lord’s

that old fear of aging and death that used to be placated with an afterlife is now starting to be assauged with magic pills.

    8. When I worked at Google, literally everybody was taking 90+mg of Adderall a day. It was no secret.

    9. Yes, and it just amplified the fact that they’re all narcissistic psychopaths

    10. At this point, I think we should consider Capitalism an Olympic event. Anyone who reaches $1bn in personal wealth, gets a leaf crown and a medal in a ceremony, all their businesses and finances are taken from them and they receive an account that is topped up to $1m every 1st of the month for the rest of their life.

Even if they drain their account every month, 80 years will only cost 960m. Statistically improbably that it will be a loss.

You won. We pay for you for the rest of your life. Retire. Get a life.

    11. No they didn’t lol

For the past twenty years we’ve heard about BOTH psilocybin micro dosing AND Adderall/+neurotropic use

Seems pretty much all news sites are going paywall, which is their choice, but clickbait headlines are a nonstarter. Old school journalism had headlines that at least gave you the crux of the story. For example:

      **Titanic sinks, killing 1,500**

*Collision with iceberg, rescue underway *

      Versus:

**You won’t believe what happened in the North Atlantic!**

      *Historic collision endangers thousands*

The intention is to get more people clicking to get the relevant details. I don’t know how well that’s working for them, because news organizations in general have been struggling to get and keep readership in general.

I’m guessing they would argue that if they give away the who, what, when, where of the story, nobody will visit the link to fill in the how and why. That’s already possible with going straight to the comments like we do on Reddit. Not that we’re a bastion of factual integrity, but important context and alternate sources do get disseminated here. Along with alerts of “paywall”, which wards off even more potential readers.

Toss in with that the fact that so many news sites are just hot garbage, infested with ads meant to look like news. It’s not an appealing prospect to trudge through all that to finally reach a three paragraph ride by of the story.

What I gleaned from the subhead and first paragraph I was able to access was something more like:

**Tech bros host games based on enhancement drugs**

I couldn’t even find that level of detail in the comments at the time of this post. Just discussions about the supplements and pharmaceuticals themselves, along with detractions of tech bros.

Is it accurate? I don’t know. I sure won’t be subscribing to WSJ to get one story, any more than the hundreds of other sites out there pulling the same tactics.

Nor do I have a suggestion. News has been taking a solid beating for decades now, what with encroaching corporate interests, political influence, and economic pressures. The institution of journalism has taken a turn towards the rack of coupon clipper and promotional “magazines” one sees at the entrance to a grocery store. Largely ignored.

      Used performance drugs in secret….

Stevie wonder can see how drugged and drunken they are. The sweating, the twitching, the greasy looking skin, the biblical and totalitarianism speeches.

    14. Look at Bezos‘ last interview and from a couple years ago. He is juicing like it’s a lemonade stand

Why would I buy that shit? Tech billionaires are all greedy morons propped up by other greedy morons. It’s all stupid desperate people trying to steal a buck from each other. None of them are happy or fulfilled and never will be and they know it. Best to just keep stuffing money into that gapping hole they all have in their souls.

    16. The enhanced games were such a disappointment. Not a single new world record. It was basically a pro human „enhancement“ propaganda video.

    17. „Angermayer, who at 48 looks a decade younger,“

No, the dude looks like a normal, fit, 48.

      Peptides

They’re basically snake oil that may or may not do anything at all. Come from some lab in China and youre injecting yourself hoping you don’t get side affects.

    19. It’s remarkable that these people, who consider themselves superior to the rest of us, require technological crutches to help them think.

    20. A lot of optimization culture feels less like health and more like turning human beings into productivity machines
