It’s surprising to see Bulgaria in there. Is there a particular reason for it?

    3. While doctors in the UK can refuse, they are professionally obligated to hand over to a colleague who can go forward with the request.

    4. tbh I wouldn’t want an abortion done by a doctor who is for whatever reasons opposed to do so.

    5. In pro-choice, but think if a doctor is at the point of refusing, they shouldn’t be forced to do it.

Everyone can refuse. There is probably consequences, that’s what it means.

    7. When you need to have a law that dictates that abortion has to be carried out… Damn, didn’t know Sweden, Finland, Czechia, and Bulgaria had that kind of issues.

    8. Pretty massive human rights violation.

Unless of course you mean they can’t refuse to *perform* an abortion.

    9. In Spain the doctor must be registered in a list of conscientious objection, and if the life of the mother is in danger, this doesn’t apply.

Finland its legal up to 12 weeks
      Sweden 18 weeks
czezh 12 weeks or tour child has a confirmed gentic disorder.
      Bulgaria is 12 weeks

So even these super progressive states yall are talking about dont allow abortions up to birth like roe v wade allowed. And in Bulgaria and czech, you can abort up to birth based solely due to gentic disorders which is iffy imo

In Germany nobody can be forced to perform a termination of pregnancy. But there are enough doctors willing to do terminations, so everyone is safe.

Imagine being legally forced by the law to kill a defenseless child 😂😂

I think a fair middleground is to let them refuse under a few conditions:
      1. They transfer the patient to another doctor fast enough that the pregnancy will not advance in a substantial capacity.
      2. They cover any costs incurred by the transfer and delay.
      3. They cannot decline to perform one in urgent circumstances.

Sad to see that so many countries put the personal „morals“ of doctors before womens health.

Imagine if firefighters could choose to let s house burn down because it „didn’t feel right to do my work that I get payed to do“.

    16. „excuse me, sir, would you like another abortion?“
      „Ah, I can’t refuse, thanks“

In Netherlands doctors have the right to refuse based on their religion
