      Cage:

      > “David O. Russell offered me a movie a million years ago. It was a good movie, and he offered it and I said no, and he’s the only director that I ever said no to who actually came back and offered me another movie.”

      > “Most of them, they get their feelings hurt and don’t call you back. It’s happened a million times to me. It’s happened with Christopher Nolan, it’s happened with Woody Allen, it’s happened with Paul Thomas Anderson. They don’t call me back.”

    2. He turned down a Christopher Nolan movie to make Windtalkers instead….lol

Somebody get Nic Cage another treasure hunting movie vehicle. Have him kill Mark Wahlberg, hopefully, and put Phil dunster as a side kick.

I can’t really think of a role he would have made sense for in other Christopher Nolan movies

I’m sorry, are you saying there are roles that Nicolas Cage said no to?

Dude, he called you like, *25 years ago,* during your prime.

*No shit* he isn’t calling you back with the kind of performances you’ve been putting out the last 20 plus years.

Sometimes they have a role in a project specifically for you Nick. Most of the time they don’t.

    8. I mean that’s kind of their perogitive…if I called someone for a job and they turned me down id move them to the bottom of the list for future work too. I’ve literally done that with employees and new hires. It’s just a time efficiency thing not a hurt feelings thing. I don’t care if you don’t want the job but why am I going to attempt to go through the whole process again when I can take a chance on someone that either really wants the job or take a chance on a new and eager employee.

I do get the sense that Nolan is pretty sensitive to this. He stopped working with Hans Zimmer when he couldn’t do tenet and I doubt we’ll ever see him collaborate with RDJ too

I genuinely cannot picture Nicolas Cage in a Nolan project.  They have two very, very different styles.  Just because Cage has an Oscar doesn’t mean that he’s going to be right for everything.

David O Russell is an abuser by his own admission, no one should be working with him.

Also, the quality of movies he’s put out for the last decade are shit.

    12. He also worked with the Coen brothers and they never worked with him again.

    13. Nolan wanted to cast him as „Little Boy“ but when Nic Cage turned down the role, Nolan cut the scene. thats why we never see the actual bombing of Hiroshima

Well Nic, talented in demand directors get an extra level of hurt feelings when they look at what you said yes to.

„Everyone says they wish the could block r/entertainment but it’s forced on us“

Trash sub. Please perma block me

    16. Can’t imagine Cage’s style fitting Nolan’s these days, outside of Insomina/ Batman (and he was too old for most Batman roles I’d wager).

Or…. his budget in the last 20 years mean he can now cast who he wants, not who he can afford
