The short summary of this is this phrase:

“They seem to be driven by a fantasy conservative monoculture republic at the end of this. They don’t seem to be considering the possibility that they’re not going to be gaining anything by this – that they’re going to be giving everything away.”

Danielle Smith is a floor crosser. Turn coat.

All actions she takes undermines democratic norms, functions, rights, and the right to vote for more and more people. The common thread is attacks on democracy.

The vote does not matter to those who undermine democracy. The goal is simply to destroy it for everyone else. To give Alberta away to those oligarchs Daneille courts on private planes over caviar plates, champagne toasts, and gold toilets they need to remove your agency.

Wonder what deals Danielle would cross all Alberta for? Perhaps, being Governor?

    3. Regardless of the referendum they CAN’T leave Canada. Full stop.

This is also predominantly US psyop / destabilization and I would put money on them using „liberating Alberta“ as an excuse for another „not war“. Every Canadian needs to approach this seriously and an treat them accordingly as seditious traitors

The mechanisms of Brexit and Alberta separation are very very different. Alberta has a near 0% real chance of being able to separate. The comparisons are poor.

This topic is getting WAY…WAY too much media attention.

We need to stop giving media attention to these clowns. They are a bunch of social media brain washed morons.

Have we not learned anything from the mess to the south of us? The Trump administration is the end result of giving a soap box to room temperature IQ dipshits.

Going off of Brexit I fear mostly for the bystanders caught in the middle (in that case it was other EU citizens living in the UK caught in the lurch, this case it would be Albertans who don’t want to deal with the mess a national separation would make for them), in that case the EU fared alright comparatively, it was the UK who was screwed.

It’ll never happen, separation. This is just fear mongering and politics. The vast majority of Albertans do not want this.

Brexit involved leaving an economic zone that had shown clear benefits to the UK. Alberta separation if it occurs will involve moving from an economic environment that consistently stymies its number one export and drains its federal tax receipts to a province that has been a “have not” four over five decades. It also involves access to the largest economy on the planet and swaps out a mid tier current for the global reserve currency. Only the most intellectually lazy would treat these situations as analogous. This is more in line with joining the EU than leaving it.

    9. Danielle Smith will go down as the worst Premier in the history of the country.

Instead of using the many outs she was given to torpedo the entire topic – most lately, the court ruling – she has played with fire to accommodate separatists. David Cameron knows very well how this turned out with Brexit. When Alberta is fully engulfed in a bonfire, and Danielle Smith is driven from office, we will see the full impact of this on Alberta’s economy and Canada.

Total stupidity. You don’t coddle or appease separatists. You run them out of town. Always.
