This headline is very confusingly-worded. The graduates are getting booed, which shapes AI’s future? Or the graduates are booing themselves?

Hey can we do news stories about what normal people are saying? I’m real fuckin tired of hearing what CEOs and billionaires are saying.
AI will undoubtedly have it’s place in the future. But the reason the people dislike it, and the people are booing isn’t because AI won’t be useful, it’s because everyone understands what it means, and there are no safety nets in place to stop any of it from happening because all of these companies are full speed ahead and our government supports profit over people at all costs. Major companies are opting to fire intelligent educated people for AI or outsourcing the jobs cheaply to other countries.
What are we supposed to do when our entire economy is based on working for money to buy things and services, and those companies are not going to pay anyone any money? We are heading towards a really dark outcome and nobody seems keen on reigning any of this shit in. That’s why people are booing.
Very much sounds like „keep booing and I’ll give you something to boo about.“
AI, uh, finds a way
If Google’s AI is so great, why don’t we use it to replace Sundar Pichai? Oh, right, executives think they offer something no one else is able to and get to spend their days getting grossly compensated while watching the world burn with their creation
Says the guy who doesn’t have to live with any of the consequences…for now
I know Google abandoned the whole “Don’t be Evil” policy a long time ago but they’re not even trying to pretend to be even remotely decent anymore.

He deserves to be booed, loudly and ubiquitously. AI is an existential threat to humanity. The sooner we all realize this, the sooner we will rise up against it.
How about Sundar Pichai of Google go fuck himself? While at it, he can also invite other CEOs to do the same.
Up until recently, when „tech“ billionaires did commencement speeches, it was like „work hard and with dedication and you can make it“ and now it’s like „bro buy our AI or get rekt but also it will steal your job anyway“ and they then expect people to be excited about it?
Boo them, as loud and hard as possible. It gets to them.

These people have too much power. We need to return to true meritocracy and rid our society of this hereditary system where we treat inherited wealth as inherited talent.
Why are all these schools inviting tech bros to give sales talks about AI to graduates?
It’s always been somebody to give a motivational, uplifting speech about the future and how the sky is the limit etc not “embrace my product”

No one who stands to make substantial financial gains from widespread AI adoption should ever be taken at face value when talking about AI.
