The entire Fentanyl Tariff was based on a outright lie. They could start the process by admitting that truth. The booze ban is a direct response to these falsely premised Tariffs. The Americans are defining what bad faith negotiations are. We need to just wait out this regime and move as far away from these guys as we can. Now is the time to create distance from this broken state.
This man and this entire regime is so out of touch. It’s all about the “win” vs “win/win”.

Introduce an export tax on all energy and mineral exports to the US that matches the highest tariff on any Canadian good.
Then just stop taking or returning Trump’s calls. Let him have his temper tantrum and when the adults return to power negotiate with them.
Why do we give this guy any attention? He has no practical power on any of the current Canada-US conflict issues, and only exists to make noise for Trump like those small dogs who bark at anyone.
Fundamentally, the American mindset is one of “manifest destiny”.
Pick any group of Americans, from any walk of life, level of wealth, education, or even political affiliation, and while many of them may *accept* that some people don’t want to be American, all of them will agree that you’d be *privileged* to be one of them.
Hell, I got into the funniest Reddit argument with one of them over our shared disdain for Trump, when the user mentioned the “Red Coats” as a symbol of Trump’s tyranny, and I pointed out that in Canada we view the Red Coats as the good guys of history. Something he couldn’t understand, which led to our conversation devolving into accusations that I’m a boot licker.
Even the ones “on our side” are, at the end of the day, American, and will never completely understand how other people may not believe in their cultural mythos.
