Seems like a really odd definition of indigenous they’re using. I’m Irish and live in Ireland. My genetic make-up from a test said I was mostly Celtic Irish and Scandinavian; as is the case with the vast majority of people in Ireland due to viking raids centuries ago. If I am not indigenous to Europe… then where on Earth am I indigenous to?

I think it’s a problem of language usage, in this case the word is use to allude to a minority. In the West, the indigenous are usually people who were displaced by others and now are a minority, according to the BBC the Sami meet these definition. The problem though is that in parts of Europa the “indigenous” are the majority therefore the word is not use. Moreover, I would say that there’s no indigenous people at all because the land is always changing of owners throughout the History, before the Celtic people the land was inhabited by others, for example.
