As expected. This time they didn’t even make excuse why like last two times

    2. They did this every single time to stop and prevent the protests.

Let’s see if they escalate beyond sound cannon this time with their crackdown.

Sounds like they copy what the UK did in 2020 to stop people protesting in London, shutting and cancelling trains so people couldn’t get to London to protest.

Edit: I could only find sources for UK police to stop buses going to a demonstration and arresting people who didn’t turn back, not trains.

Dethrone your government, with ANY means necessary.

      I condone everything.

    5. They did it multiple times already. But before they would say someone called them and told that “bombs were placed” on the trains/railway.

This time however they just said “the trains are not operating”, no explanation at all.

    6. I love that this news is on a Hungarian website.
The Russian puppets are falling. Europe is healing
Except for Germany, which sadly is about to elect Russian puppets

You have to wonder how the government has held on for so long given the scale of these protests the length of time they have been sustained

    8. Is it illegal to protest in Serbia ?

It looks like fascism is well stablished in mini Russia. Just like its big brother.

    9. Let’s hope that after Hungary, another forrupt, pro-Russia regime will collapse.

There should be election .too much mafia and coruption in that country

    11. Hi, I’m currently staying in Belgrade. I’d like to visit the protests and get to meet some local protestors. Can anyone here tell me where the student protests take place or provide relevant links?

    12. They’re STILL protesting? That’s some endurance man. Americans can only be bothered to do it on the weekends twice a year at the most.

Wishing you great strength from Hungary! Don’t give up hope, the Serbian students have been relentless in their pursuit of democracy. Really inspiring.

Great strategy: make it harder for students and smart people to protest, then wonder why democracy is rotting while mainstream parties normalize coalitions with right-wing grifters.

      Truly elite level cope.

    15. This is a sign of weakness, nothing else. If done students scare you enough to cripple your whole country, it shows how scared you are.

    16. everything in that country has been taken over by the ruling gangsters. every single institution corrupted beyond belief. Serbia was a democracy (i mean it was no Switzerland or something like that but it was a functional democracy) before they took over like 12 years ago. How they dismantled the entire state and robbed it blind in the process should be taught in schools and serve as an example everywhere. In the middle of Europe with EUs blessing

another „funny“ thing – the meteorological institute issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Belgrade (with 0% actual chance). i follow the situation there and im still shocked like every week by something new.

If the students pull this off in the end and somehow remove them from power, it will be something glorious and unprecedented (and also taught in schools everywhere). Best of luck and wishes at the protest and in your fight from your Bosnian neighbors. PUMPAJ!

„During the second national COVID-19 lockdown in England, the Metropolitan Police conducted „early interventions“ to stop large gatherings. They intercepted coaches (buses) transporting protesters into central London. Those on the buses who refused to turn back were arrested or issued fines for breaching coronavirus regulations.

BBC News (Nov 28, 2020): „The Met said coaches taking protesters into London had earlier been intercepted…“

NBC News / Yahoo News (Nov 29, 2020): Explicitly mentions intercepting buses and turning back or fining/arresting those who didn’t comply.

Axios and other outlets reported similar details.“

    18. I suggest using this news, like other similar ones (such as the blocking of public transport in China for similar reasons, the freezing of protesters‘ bank accounts in Canada, and so on), to reflect on the power of the individual and the necessity of freedom to have Democracy. The necessity of private ownership.

In other words, I suggest thinking about how our local political development agenda leads to a de facto dictatorship by having simply removed the control of private property from the capacity of individuals.

Taking the opportunity, therefore, to suggest that everyone DEMAND cars that are connected to the formal owner for those who want it, not to the OEM and therefore not remotely deactivatable, widespread private property and not four fat cats who own everything while the others rent from them, obviously, those four fat cats are subsidised by the State, otherwise they would have already gone bust, as happens with public transport and so on.

Think about it while you can still read a post without a forced login on the pretext of „age verification“, you can walk without having cloud locks blocking you, and so on. Digital technology can be FLOSS, if we demand it; otherwise, those who have an interest in owning it will do so against our own.

Remember to bring your hearing protection headsets to the student protest in Serbia.

    20. Lifestyle-eXzessiv on

Doesnt the government feel like maybe they should move along when they’re forced to take measures like this to stop a protest?

    21. I don’t understand this reaction?

If the protest is intended to cause disruption, it looks like they’ve achieved their aims without even having to get out of bed.

    22. jeffriestubesteak on

When you think about it, the students won. They shut down railway operations without even having to leave their bedrooms.

They should go on email blast celebrating their ability to disrupt transportation, and put the administration on notice that they plan to do so as often as necessary.

The administration can choose to either let the protesters travel or shut down travel for everyone. Either way, the protesters win.

Another day on Reddit, another article about how bad Serbia is. Typical.
