    1. Fuck that. Bet it listens for any negative mention of the administration/regime. People should leave it in their car consoles when they’re at home and bring it into the house when they’re out on their personal time.

Pushing content from the president? Does that include every asinine retweet and AI generated video he posts? Every middle of the night diatribe posting spree? Or is that just on his temu twitter?

Spyware, or just artificially beefing up the number of people that have downloaded the app? Classic Trump business.

I’m sure it has nothing to do with turning your camera, mic and GPS on. Nope. Nothing at all.

    4. Trump doesn’t want one hand to know what the other one is doing. This is not America.

The hackers of the world are looking forward to a single target that gives them all government employees at once.

    6. Interesting that there is one little quote from the regime, “[keep] you connected to President Donald J. Trump and his administration like never before,”. Just insert Hitler for rump and the 3rd Reich for the admin and you would never know the difference.

Putting political messaging apps on government devices sounds like a cybersecurity and privacy nightmare waiting to happen. Government phones should be for secure communication and work tools, not apps tied to any administration or political branding.

“This is the kind of thing that sounds small at first, but it’s actually a huge shift in how independent agencies are supposed to function. Feels like every administration keeps pushing the limits a little further.”

The Hatch Act is supposed to strictly prohibit federal civil servants from engaging in partisan political activity while on duty or using government resources. It should make put an app the White House installs to push its partisan messaging unlawful. Of course, Donald Trump will pardon people doing illegal stuff for him and the Republican Congress won’t exercise appropriate oversight of the Donald Trump’s Executive Branch. The Democrats will (hopefully) recapture control of the House and Senate in a blue wave during the 2026 elections to provide actual oversight and leverage against the executive overreach.

I mean… it’s a government device. Turn it off when you go home and leave it on your desk. Fuck these weirdos.

      >The push to install the app on the devices of millions of government employees drew surprise from current and former federal officials, who called the move highly unusual and even dangerous.

Cybersecurity researchers warned about vulnerabilities in the app soon after it debuted, like how it shares the IP addresses, time zones and other data of users with third-party services. The app also raised initial concerns about its potential GPS tracking capability, but the White House has since removed that functionality.

      >Forcing agencies to install it on employee’s government furnished phones should be “cause for alarm,” said Hashmi, who worked at the General Services Administration for years, most recently as a Biden administration appointee. “Any app that is installed on government issued devices can potentially create backdoor access to government networks behind the firewall.”

The app includes videos and messaging that are overtly political or directly related to campaigns, the type of material with which employees are typically discouraged from engaging while on the clock due to the non-partisan nature of their work.

Putting a non-optional, „overtly political“ app on federal employees‘ work devices feels like a massive violation of the Hatch Act. Federal workers are legally required to keep political campaigning completely separate from their government duties. Forcing this onto their phones is a wild precedent.

Greatest president ever as default text. What a fucking joke and waste of money.

    14. I think they’re going too fascist too fast. People aren’t going to like this.

    15. Should we try to stop this or let them turn the knob to broil with their hand on the burner? :/

I’m guessing Israel will have helpfully added their latest version of Pegasus to it.

    17. Land of the free, no country that takes individuals freedom to privacy would accept this.

    18. I wonder how long until they turn the phone mics on at random times outside of work to “verify patriotism”

    19. Dear Mr trump; we will ot forget nor forgive the things you have done. You can build an ivory tower but as soon as your term ends we are throwing your ass in prison for the rest of your life, as well as your sons and your wife, the attorney general, the heads and acting members of ICD, the head home homeland security. We are coming for all of you and you will never know daylight again.

I’ve just finished watching the last season of The Boys. Considering it was mostly written in 24 it seems incredibly prescient.

    21. It’s a gift for the child rapists master, Putin. Now Russia or China just need to break into a single app to tap into this entire network.

    22. This is one of those cases where I’d insist on a „work phone“ and a „personal phone“.

I’d leave my government phone at the office, or I’d turn it off when I clocked out.
