Terrible logic. Better only let in immigrants that know the language and actually want to assimilate to the Japanese culture and way of life if they are going to go down this foolish path he is suggesting. Otherwise Japan won’t remain Japanese.

Just because you become citizen doesn’t mean you’re Japanese, you know what i mean, Japan is not like US.

By that logic, why not just naturalize them as soon as they step off the plane? Then 100% will be Japanese! Problem solved…

dynamite logic.

Dude it’s literally just make it cheaper to raise children. Give people tax breaks and provide free school clothing. Even if you need to make a standard national uniform. Anything just to make shit cheaper to raise a kid and give parents exactly an 8 hour work day. JFC. It’s not hard.

Not sure i understand the logic here.
Like the legal logic checks out. They are, by law, no longer a foreigner. But outside of law, it doesnt check out.

>If we define everyone as Japanese then everyone is Japanese
That’s just a meaningless tautology. It does nothing to address the underlying concerns around the debate.

Now, make it also easy for kids of mixed families to retain both passports and just treat them inside Japan as Japanese only.
My country does exactly that, the state does not care if you have US passport or whatever other passport, within the country and it’s affairs you’re a citizen and you have to come in and come out on local passport.

This logic doesn’t work for Island Nations.
It’s literally how a culture is lost to the masses; because, assimilation is usually disregarded.

A country can receive many immigrants, but after some years many become citizens. Once they naturalize, they are no longer counted as **foreign nationals**, even if they were born abroad.

The same „logic“ that is used in Europe to justify capitalists bringing in millions of non-unionised, compliant scabs to replace the local population who have the nerve to expect a decent living in their own lands.

Immigrants don’t need Japan. But Japan needs immigrants.
