I have a friend that once used the words – „I am thinking about starting to think about applying for new jobs“. This reminded me of him.

And Canada’s enemies cheer. The mere existence of this fabricated crisis will weaken us.
All to avoid „muzzling the voices“ of a petition claiming without evidence to include 7% of the population of Alberta.

Holding a referendum to see if they should hold a referendum is Smith’s way of moving Alberta further down the separatist road without actually triggering any constitutional challenge or lawsuits. Whether she gets away with it is likely going to be up to the First Nations again.

Hold on, now. That seems premature.
Surely there should first be a referendum about whether or not to have the fall referendum.
In fact, they should probably have a referendum about whether to have *that* referendum.

Hold my beer, so Alberta is having a referendum to see if another referendum is needed based upon the first referendum. FFS

Headline leaves out the best part (cause it doesn’t fit): the question!
>“Should Alberta remain a province of Canada or should the Government of Alberta commence the legal process required under the Canadian Constitution to hold a binding provincial referendum on whether or not Alberta should separate from Canada?”
Well? Yes or no? Choose carefully!

First assumption she is still following the (more cunning) separatists plan to the T, any vote signaling independence can be used to accelerate the process beyond the point it can be stopped. This is their best shot at making Albertans swallow the poisonous pill. Expect lots of „This one doesnt count, dont worry about it“.

Probably a good idea if this referendum passes to hold a referendum on what the question will be. Following that a referendum on which season we want the vote. From there we will need a referendum on which day. I feel there needs to be as much clarity with this as possible.

People aren’t going to like this but I think this is good. Allow the people to reject separation clearly, and then we can all get on with our lives.

Typical ineffectual conservative leadership.
Bitch and moan bitch and moan the vote on a binding resolution to vote on a binding resolution absolute incompetence.
Thank God we are not dealing with this from PP on the federal level
