This video is a reupload of a 2022 video. I dont know why he would do that, and not even change the description or anything…. very weird. This guy is usually known for having a very sane and level headed analysis.
Looked deeper. This youtube account is weird. It has 7k subscribers, but the main (real?) Joe Blogs account has 465k subs. But its also almost the same age as the main account. Maybe he’s trying to segement his youtube and reuploading only his Russia stuff to this channel… But then maybe say it’s a rerun somewhere???
Misguided attempt to maximize the algorithm at best. Scummy clickbait behavior at worst. Not sure whats more likely, but I hope its the first, as I had relied on his Channel in the past for good (if a bit dry) takes on things.
The 1918 was a flat „We’ve revolted, and we don’t honor the old government’s debts, because they were aristocrats or something!“ Since that was Communist Russia, and not the current Federation, and it was a declaration of revolution, and not really inability to pay, it can kinda be ignored from a historical perspective.
But the 1998 and 2022 defaults were both the Russian Federation, this current incarnation of the country, and both have their own Wikipedia pages..
