    1. “Breaking protocol” and “massive arms deal” are never great in the same sentence

He’s going to count this as one of the fictional wars he lies about stopping. Funny he never counts the ones he actually starts.

    3. He’s going to tell him that the US is going to abandon Taiwan because Xi said a nice thing about him.

And I know exactly what he’s going to say to the Taiwan president:

“China is offering me this much to let them annex you. So what can you offer Trump?”

    5. “Bribe me and I will tell Ghina to leave you alone”. *Trick! I just want a bribe and TTFN!*

Probably going to tell them the same thing he told Ukraine “just surrender, you don’t hold any cards” because China was nice to him.

It’s not a break in protocol when he’s a Chinese agent. Remember when Trump said Biden would be the one to sell out the US to China?

The orange rapist doesn’t know the name of „the person running Taiwan“ and I can guarantee you that the convicted felon couldn’t find Taiwan on a map. He probably couldn’t locate China, for that matter.

This is going to lead to him tweeting/doing something crazy again to fuck up the economy for a couple of days/weeks. The pattern is becoming rather predictable.

Trump always adopts the views of the last person to talk to him, so this is probably a good thing.

    11. QuickUnion9052 on

China wouldn’t want any other American president to say that, because it legitimizes Taiwan as a sovereign country.

But Trump’s probably going to call this guy to shake him down for money and to repeat Chinese talking points.

“Sir, sir,” Taiwan says – tremendous country, very smart country, they make the chips for the computers, the best chips frankly — and Taiwan has tears in its eyes. Nobody thought a country could cry like this, but they were crying.

And Taiwan says, “Mr. Trump, thank you. Thank you for protecting us. Without you, we’d be finished. Completely finished.”

And I said, “Taiwan, don’t cry. You’ve got to be strong.” But they couldn’t help it. The tears were flowing. People couldn’t believe it.

The fake news never reports these conversations. They don’t want to. But countries come up to me all the time — countries! — with tears in their eyes saying, “Sir, nobody has ever treated us so well.””

Could it be the smaller chair he was stuck in, the declining nation comment or the general distain china has for him? Or maybe it’s his childlike grifting brain that is having a hissy fit. China won’t be swindled and he is holding his breath until
They do or pounding his hands and feet in the floor like a small
      Child. Pathetic

    14. He’s going to tell him to move the semiconductor to the USA or he won’t protect Taiwan from China

    15. The phrase „you don’t have the cards“ is bound to be said by Ol‘ Yam Tits

    16. Lol Trump does not understand strategic ambiguity at all.

On the other hand, I wonder where they’re going to build the new Trump tower in China?

Inb4 Taiwan is extremely rude and disrespectful and America will be bombing their critical infrastructure in the name of world peace.

This dude is the dumbest politician I can think of. I mean Jesus Christ, how does anybody take anything this bumbling moron says seriously? He gyrates between polar opposite positions daily, sometimes in the same goddamn sentence.

Get ready for China to take over. Trump is gonna tell TW they need to listen to China

When Trump wants to speak to you, you know he’s going to try to make some ugly „deal“ or call you names on social media if you don’t agree.

    21. I’m just speechless as to why this moronic orangutan is still president, even though everyone knows he’s been the greatest threat to humanity since Theia collided with Earth.

Wait, I take that back – orangutans are intelligent creatures… he’s just an extremely, unbelievably stupid human being.

Wasn’t he sucking Xi’s dick a few days ago? What happened? Can someone knowledgeable in geopolitics do a TLDR plz.

    24. Trump already did this in 2016 after his first election took a call from Taiwan’s president Tsai Ing-wen, first direct contact since 1979. Everyone freaked out then too. The difference now is that the protocol has been eroded systematically over the past eight years. Congressional delegations, cabinet-level visits, military coordination all stuff that would’ve been unthinkable in 2012 but became routine under both administrations.

So this isn’t really breaking protocol anymore. What matters is timing and intent. Trump just met Xi at Mar-a-Lago, talked up tariff negotiations, then immediately announces a Taiwan call. That’s either leverage theater showing Beijing he has options or he’s genuinely trying to triangulate. The arms deal language in the article is the tell. If this is about forcing TSMC fab commitments or squeezing Taipei for defense purchases while Beijing watches, that’s a very different play than strategic reassurance.

Current president Lai Ching-te is more explicitly pro-independence than Tsai was. If Trump goes into this trying to broker some grand bargain or pressure Taipei into concessions, that conversation is going to go sideways fast.

If I was Putin controlling trump this is exactly what I’d have him do to disrupt the world economy. Hello semiconductor crisis!

it sounds like Trump wants to trade Cuba for Taiwan, which is a terrible fucking deal for America.
