Can’t wait to see which countries suddenly discover their defense budgets.

The Americans are truly a world historic evil. [Historians put the death toll of amerism over 100,000,000 in the last 80 years alone](https://www.jstor.org/stable/jj.17102129). Over 200,000 of their own citizens die every year due to horrific conditions and denial of basic rights like healthcare.

Disgusting to see any European country continue to collaborate with this great evil. US troops leaving is a good start. Its not enough.

It’s so refreshing that these kinds of decisions are made by tantrum rather than sober analysis. It makes our future path far clearer. Europe will have to be militarily dominant, collectively, in our area. Like the 4 and half of the last 5 centuries. This time it will be judicious and restrained. This is good for the world. We learned the lesson. There are about 200 countries in the world. Of all of them, Aussie, NZ, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Canada aside. Europe is where it is to be as a normal citizen. I will retire to Korea, wonderful country. We have it best.

    6. I don’t think they will be going back to the Middle East bases anytime soon

Trump and Putin must have agreed on something in Alaska, haven’t they? Eh, time to get it real and build an European army.

Europe has forgotten why it relies on the USA so much in this domain. Europe is mechanically incapable of setting its differences aside without an external power broker. All it will take is one bad situation where the USA is already out of the picture before the infighting begins.

If „Europe“ decides it needs to take a course of action that a member or members see as against their interests, it will turn into a dispute that will escalate into a state sovereignty crisis. You are still too culturally distinct from one another, even after your governments betrayed you by importing millions of foreigners to homogenize your populations in an effort to create an easier federalization environment.

These chronically online federalist Europeans that frequent reddit are staggeringly ill informed about reality and have put the unification of Europe ahead of Europeans. Some day I hope that Europeans figure out what is being done to them by these folks and that they react accordingly before their cultural identities are completely erased.

Excellent, less hostile foreign troops to worry about. If Russia did invade, there’s a high chance of US troops helping them, or sitting back while Trump tried to blackmail us into paying him to help out.

    11. US does not fight its own wars, it uses proxy states. America will send its vassal nations to die while cashing in on the war.

This is the quote from the US commander that this article is based on:

      >”What we’re basically saying is, as the European pillar of the alliance gets stronger, this allows the US to reduce its presence in Europe and limit itself to providing only those critical capabilities that allies cannot yet provide. So we should expect there to be a redeployment of US forces over time as allies build their capacity.”
