    1. > “Zeldin and Kennedy are trying to sell potions out of the back of a covered wagon,” said Dr Anna Reade, director of Pfas advocacy at Natural Resources Defense Council. “The millions of Americans demanding safe drinking water are not going to fall for their hocus pocus.”

      > The move is widely viewed as at odds with Donald Trump’s pledge to eliminate toxic chemicals from drinking water.

_Somebody_, probably a few people, are being paid off.

    2. They want to put actual poison in the drinking water.

Which part of America do you think this is going to make ‘great’ again?

    3. Son_of_Mothra on

Everybody needs to start getting reverse osmosis drinking water systems. The government should be handing them out for free if they’re going to do this bullshit. I’ve had one for years and I’ve never regretted it.

So they’re going to poison anyone who can’t afford their own imported spring water?

Are these “forever chemicals” even something that can be filtered out?

If you have millions of people ingesting them and peeing, excreting, or dying, is that just going to pollute everything?

Republicans reflexively choose the wrong and most damaging side of virtually every issue. It’s like they hate everything. They are comicbook villains

Oh, the “everybody needs to have as many babies as possible!” gang also wants to make sure the babies have birth defects.

Very smart and very *America First*.

Linking these chemicals to reduced human male fertility or low testosterone levels, could be a way to get the maga base speaking out

Thank you, President Donald J. Trump for absolutely ensuring that I get microplastics in my testicles.

      Promises Made

      Promises Kept

Trump’s donors consist of corporate interests that are just as greedy and corrupt as he is.

    10. I’m not saying it’s a death cult, but I’m pretty sure this happens to be something a death cult would do

    11. Today they’re announcing they’re literally taking money from victims to give to themselves, and putting poison in the water. This is after they killed school children in another country while closing hospitals and food banks at home.

They are the Bad Guys. Simple As.

    12. >The Trump administration’s plan comes just two years after the US Environmental Protection Agency set legally enforceable drinking water limits for six of the most dangerous Pfas compounds that have been studied. The chemicals include some of the most toxic substances, and are linked to a range of cancers and other serious health problems.

      >The new Trump plan aims to undo or delay those limits, which public health advocates say would put the nation’s health at risk. Pfas are ubiquitous in the environment and estimated to be contaminating drinking water for more than 200 million people across the US.

      >At the Monday press conference, the EPA administrator, Lee Zeldin, and US health secretary, Robert F Kennedy Jr, announced the new plan.

      >“The Trump EPA is committed to Make America Healthy Again by ensuring clean air, land, and water – and by taking on Pfas the right way, across the full life cycle and built to last,” Zeldin said in a statement.

This is from the same people that want to get rid of the fluoride in the water.

    14. republicans are trying to murder americans so fat oligarchs can make 1% more profit than last quarter

    15. What exactly does this achieve, other than potentially poisoning people? Fucking corporate America no doubt went and bitched to him that it’s “too expensive” to properly handle these forever chemicals or stoping them getting into drinking water and manipulated his administration into agreeing to relax the rules. Unbelievable!

    16. People at the end of their miserable lives should not be making long term decisions about our futures

    17. Mean-Cheesecake-2635 on

Finally something that benefits wealthy business owners and corporations

    18. Oh give Trump a break. We should fully support his literal theft of our tax money because all he wants is to destroy our East Wing to build a massive ballroom that no one wants except him, cement over our beloved rose garden, construct a giant arch to show he’s a big, strong, well-respected world leader, paint the bottom of our Reflection Pool a bright blue color as if it was a swimming pool which will no longer reflect, and get a settlement of a frivolous lawsuit for his tax returns being leaked when every single president has voluntarily released them in the past, and to use his settlement to pay for his militia of white supremacist hateful POS insurrectionist — I mean really, give him a break. He doesn’t want much. We can sacrifice all services and all policies that actually help us and our earth for this 34-count felon for fraud. He’s such a deserving man of highest ethics and morality. /s *sigh*

    19. As someone who lives in a place affected terribly by these chemicals….bad, bad idea.

    20. “RFK Jr. is a leader of the Make America Healthy Again (Maha) movement, of which eliminating toxic chemicals from food and water is a cornerstone. Maga and Maha have been at odds over the last year as the administration fails to follow through on many of its promises.

Kennedy defended the delay and rescission of the limits at the press conference.

‘I’ve read articles in the corporate media that say we’re trying to roll back Pfas protections, but that’s not true,” Kennedy said. He said the administration was putting in place a “clean water mandate.’”

Like Jesus fucking Christ, that is RFK’s statement? The man who promised to make drinking water safer, the “make america healthy again” guy. His best friend Trump’s EPA moves to totally axe limits on cancer chemicals in drinking water, and when the media reports on it, his response is “nuh uh. they’re making water CLEANER.”

This man has made it so that the Kennedy family has had a net negative impact on the United States. What a diseased fucking demon.

    21. Check out the cancer rates around old (and existing) military bases. That’s an indication of the new future.

    22. Chucky_In_The_Attic on

I want someone that voted for Trump, that still defends him, to explain how this is a good thing. I mean it, I want a serious response from someone that genuinely believes this to be a smart move. I want to know what logic, what line of thinking you have to defend this.

      Fucking insane.

I installed a decent size RO system for the purpose of having zeroed out water to brew beer with

Now I’m glad I have it because I can’t trust fucking anything anymore.

If this current republican government doesn’t kill us one way they’re gonna kill us in another. First time a president has shown us he cares zero, zilch about the people he supposedly presides over.
