Western Ohio was heavily reshaped by glaciers during the Ice Age, while the unglaciated southeast kept its older, more rugged Appalachian terrain.

When you start in WV and drive West into Eastern Ohio where its more white, its not that big of a change. But a little ways in where it turns grey, it gets so flat and desolate. Then just worse the further you go.
Tell me there’s more maps of the rest of the states
That unglaciated Allegheny plateau, tho.
Eastern Iowa is similar. It’s not all flat like everyone thinks
