oof they really should’ve thought out celebration’s head banging choreo well before including it. I’m glad the others atleast haven’t had similar issues.

Poor girl you could really see her straining her neck and be in pain the past few performances😔

    3. seasoned-program on

So just for some viral performances of an unnecessary dance move, they have one of the more popular members sitting out of the entire comeback . sounds like kpop

    4. That’s gonna be a blow for the group. But hope she gets better and ample rest.

Honestly this feels like a serious oversight from the Soyeon Amy and team. Even fans could tell from day one that the Celebration choreo would put a lot of strain on the girls’ necks with all those intense head and upper body movements. They really should’ve considered the amount of performances the girls would be doing back-to-back. What worries me more is that the members seem to feel pressured to push through pain. Even during that weverse live when Sakura was lowkey stopping Chaewon from showing discomfort. Really hope the company starts prioritizing the girls’ long-term health more.

That headbanging move in their choreo was a poor decision made by their choreographer and management, that must be infuriating for their fans.

    7. Terrible-Avocado1997 on

I think when most people seen the choreo to Celebration they thought that its a injury waiting to happen.

No idea how the company and the choreographer didn’t See it.

    8. Interpol_Interpol on

They changed the choreo way too late. They probably practiced with the headbanging move dozens of times before release as well. I hope she gets better soon.

I think no one’s surprised, she looked visibly in pain during their university performances. The celebration choreo was a bad idea from the start, the headbanging should only be a part of the music video and they should have used an altered choreo that doesn’t include head banging for music shows. When I saw them continue the headbanging even after the end of the song I knew this would happen eventually 😞

    10. She’s been struggling with her neck since the fearnot anniversary stream…

Last week they changed the choreo so there was no more headbanging.

I hope she takes her time and recovers fully, what a joke.

    11. Late_Art9758 on

Isn’t LSF having their tour as well, they’ll be doing that headbanging for all the shows too? Is that a good idea….?

    12. So many of the ggs I listen to have at least one member currently on hiatus. 😞

    13. ikindalikekitkat on

Omg I feel so bad for Chaewon, I saw the video of her struggling with neck pain. Hope she recovers soon

    14. HtetLinTeume on

Neck injury is not a joke. That head banging move can have long term impact if not treated well by medical professionals.

    15. princessgojo on

We all saw this coming. I really hope they make a permanent change in the choreo and remove that step entirely.

      Get well soon, Chaewon 🤍

    16. With how thin these idols, their choreo should require less strength and endurance as possible.

    17. HugeAdministration28 on

companies and choreographers really don’t think about idols health at all. they just want something flashy and viral smh.

reminds me of when Onew also had neck/shoulder pains due to the arm spinning during everybody which everyone and their moms saw coming.

    18. BeckTheDarkOne on

This feels like straight up negligence… how did absolutely no one saw this coming when creating that choreo?

    19. Youngstar9999 on

Most preventable injury ever… If fans could see 2 seconds after the choreography was released tha it’s not sustainable long-term why did the company not act???

    20. ParanoidAndroids on

      Man, this is really disappointing.

Right ahead of their comeback, events, and before their world tour. I really hope she can make a full recovery before the tour starts because it’s hard enough to sell tickets these days – but potentially without your most popular member is really tough.

I don’t understand how nobody in management thought that choreo wouldn’t have some sort of consequences. Hair whips are one thing, headbanging is another – and the sheer amount of repetition they must have done in the leadup to this comeback probably felt like a Slipknot concert on their necks.

The move didn’t even seem worth the effort. The members being instructed not to mention their pain is probably industry standard but the cherry on top of a shit sundae. I can’t imagine any of them are feeling 100%. At least she’s able to get time to recover, now.

    21. Chutneysandwich16 on

I’ve been thinking about just how much these idols end up wrecking their bodies due to intense choreo over the years (Taeyong has chronic back issues that could at one point result in lower body paralysis and I pretty much blame the Cherry Bomb dance for it) .

      Neck injuries can be extremely serious and I’m surprised they didn’t change the step sooner. I think some of the members were even wearing wigs/extensions which would add to the weight. Hope she feels better soon…I know a few people irl with neck issues and it’s not fun ;-;

    22. yonobobbles on

I hope she recovers well. Why that was in the actual choreo instead of just an mv scene I’ll never understand.

    23. Such clown shit. The kicker is that it didn’t even really land all that well because they were so obviously hesitant to commit to it, which is not at all a criticism of the group because who the fuck would want to commit to something like that when you can feel the harm it’s doing, and especially by the time you’ve done it a million times in practice, for TikTok challenges and then doing your 11th music show that day.

So basically, good job risking the health of your employees for something that wasn’t even good and over issues everybody saw coming.
