I am of the opinion that Vance’s loyalty and conviction may be wavering, he’s badly out of his depth and this is not what he signed up for.
He is not a stupid man. He knows fine well what’s going on and he was absolutely not interested in going after Iran. Just ten years ago he was on camera calling Trump America’s Hitler and giving us 101 different reasons why Trump absolutely should not be allowed any power.
But then again there was a time where Pete Kegsbreath did the same. And Marco Rubio basically made Pulled Trump during a debate. Both now have plum jobs and „keeep your enemies closer“.
This is how they create permission for their base. They say:

No that should be treason not just „theft“. That is what is happening and I wouldn’t want anything less than the absolute force of the law to come down on each persons finances in this administration AND those who enabled and supported it. These people used the government as their piggybank in front of us, violating rules that would have previously gotten you thrown out of office and at least have public investigations.
