There was a bipartisan bill in Congress that would have gone a long way to solving our border issue. I’ll note here that the Republicans actually demanded this bill (as they always do around election time). But this time Dems gave republicans most of what they wanted. Increase of border patrol agents. More security. More money for the border. President Biden said he would sign the bill (and close the border) the instant the bill hit his desk. And, at first, republicans gleefully jumped up to vote for the bill.
Then came Trump. Who stated he did not want to give Biden a win on the border. That he wanted to keep the border as an election issue. Trump denied the bipartisan effort. And republicans, ever slobbing to their leader, then ran away from the bill. The bill died.
So, whenever any of you see a mess at the border. Think of the day that Trump killed a bipartisan effort on that border. Think of Trump, yet again, acting in the interests of himself only while ignoring the good that bill could have done for America.
