      **Odenkirk:**

      > “I went down and Rhea [Seehorn] and Patrick [Fabian] grabbed me and they were screaming, but [the crew members who noticed] thought they were laughing. So there were delays in reacting because we were all so far apart from each other. I was gone. I turned grey. Eventually the on-set medic showed up and he didn’t know what to do. He’d never done CPR.”

      > “A lot of people get that wonderful reel of film of their life, or they have a person who says, ‘Do you want to go back?’ None of that for me. The first memory I have is leaving the hospital a week after I got there.”

Great show! Is BCS completely over? It did have an ambiguous twisty sudden packed eventful ending. I wanted more.

    4. Met him at Second City once. He was rude, condescending, and aloof. He ordered a scotch and sprite—weird fucking drink. He left half way through the first act, when he was supposed to go on afterwards, telling no one that he was leaving or why. He left no tip. Absolute garbage human being in my limited experience.

    5. That will prob haunt Rhea and Patrick who were with him the rest of their lives 😔 so glad he made it!

    6. A bunch of these comments mention Bob’s quote saying that the medic didn’t know CPR.

CPR helps with cardiac arrest–when the heart has stopped beating and the patient is usually unconscious. It doesn’t help with heart attacks–when there is usually a blockage and the heart is still trying to pump blood. Assuming it’s true that the medic actually didn’t know CPR (which we don’t have confirmation on), then administering CPR on a patient suffering a heart attack wouldn’t help. It would probably do damage.

It’s more likely that Bob started having the heart attack, asked the medic if he was going to give CPR, and the medic said something like: „I can’t do that.“ (Because it’s a heart attack, not cardiac arrest.)

    7. That’s not an actual paramedic then. If you’re a nationally registered EMT or above, you 100% know and have done CPR.

    8. Lol so many people in the comments that can’t read a basic sentence and understand it

TLDR – got picked up to be an extra on BCS. Was going to play a cop. Did all the work (covid testing) weeks before. Got down to ABQ a couple days before shoot. Did covid testing again. Then, nothing. Until that night, major notification came on my phone. Bob Odenkirk major heart attack. My opportunity to be on BCS was gone, but like everyone else, didn’t care. Just wanted Bob to pull though. He did. Months later, got the call again to come shoot. Ended up being a construction worker in the final scenes shot at the Cinnabon with „Gene“. Got to hang out with Bob on set for a few hours. He was super cordial, chatting with everyone. Was a great experience and everyone was very happy he was back and healthier than before. More to the story but its long already 🙂

    10. I don’t think he turned gray. He was probably freaked out about the heart attack and just forgot that they have to paint him gray for the Cinnabon sequences.

Because of how time and memory works, a lot of people forget how scary it was when Bob Odenkirk was taken to hospital, we knew it was really really bad and then they understandbly couldnt give us any news for days

I remember refreshing my Twitter to see if he was ok. I remember his sons message “he’s going to be ok”

Then a few weeks later, on the very funny George Lucas Talk Show with Paul F Thompkins they called him and it was cathartically hilarious

People who saw it happen were convinced he was dead. He just dropped and was completely unresponsive. I’m sure the shock of witnessing that was intense.

“He’s never done CPR” and “he didn’t know CPR” are two different statements, but for some reason everyone here thinks it means the same thing
