Ultimately the longer it isn’t resolved, the higher the chance of getting all three it seems like.
Trump could save a baby from a burning building after breakfast and then cure cancer before dinner, and the NYT would criticize him for putting oncologists out of work and that he somehow probably held the baby the wrong way resulting in it inhaling too much smoke as he carried it out. So yeah, it is hard to take their criticism seriously.
There’s been pretty much zero new public info on Iran for the last week or two. I don’t think anyone commenting on this is remotely credible at this point.
they forgot: longer more strict blockade, it hurts iranian economy much more than how much higher petrol prices in US hurts US economy, if trump would not care that much about midterm US could likely do that until Iran agrees with free navigation via Hormuz strait etc.
Why not just keep the blockade in place for the next few months and wait for the inevitable collapse?
Not presidential humiliation! Oh no whatever will we do? He humiliates himself everyday. What are you talking about?
All options would hurt Trump. Walking away would show weakness to the neocons. Boots on the ground would enforce he broke the promise of no new wars. More bombing would continue the price increases
The only alternative to walking away is military action that is highly focused on a limited, clear and measurable objective
So still no actual plan…got it
