‘Stop rewarding bad behaviour’: B.C. premier speaks out against MOU between Alberta and feds

What an idiotic thing to say – it’s basically saying it is the right thing to do for Alberta, but the feds shouldn’t reward bad behaviour.
Eby would do well to run his own province.
The Premier should take his own advice.
He has rewarded threats of direct action and blockades by FN political executives and band leadership by allowing them to dictate his legislative agenda.
No wonder Carney does not take him seriously.
Eby is on life support in BC , saying this as a person who voted for him. He has a big failure on the dripa file – he is looking for a win – this is not that !
Danielle Smith keeps talking, with clear separatist allusions, about how Carney needs to show that “Canada can work” but I really don’t see how Canada can work so long as the only Provinces that get any respect are ones actively fostering separatist movements.
The way that Hodgson has been ignoring and willfully avoiding confronting the obvious severe problems with this pipeline plan suggest that the Feds intend to ram things through. I can’t imagine that people living in northwest BC whose economy and way of life would be put at risk would feel that “Canada works”, but hey they only have one seat and the Libs are probably thinking they can pick up a few more in Alberta with this move.
Can anyone explain why Alberta is so hell bent on a northern pipeline versus expanding the existing southern one?
It seems to me like the latter would be a significantly easier project both logistically and politically.
