He was extremely talented artist, Tom of Finland absolutely deserves the fame
I remember when these came out and american television found interesting enough to report it but had to censor them in their stories. It’s a frigging stamp. I guess not much has changed.
We sent out some of our wedding invitations with these stamps.
I think the bed sheets from Finlayson with the giant prints of Tom of Finland were funnier. 🙂
In r/2nordic4u was mention that these stamps were used – especially that ass/face stamp when sending mail to Russia.
Tom of Finland is such an icon. His work inspires art to this day! As an example, for our penkkarit (Finnish upper secondary school third year students‘ celebration, where we ride around the city in trucks decorated with painted linens throwing candy to kids while in costumes, to celebrate leaving for study break before matriculation exams) we painted one linen as an homage to him! And a teacher. It had our teacher’s face. With his permission!

I have two of these stamp sets at home.
I wonder if these have any value. I purchased an estate lot and it had one sheet of these in it.
