Now add the roman provinces of belgica prima and belgica secunda. And the Belgae territory in Brittania.

And maybe also everything Pepin of Landens descendant conquered.

This is a perfect post for the ‚Well yes, but actually no‘ meme. It would be a mess once more.

    3. As a Belgian who moved to Luxembourg I am ok with this. Just don’t want to use de lijn or NMBS.

    4. How many extra governments will it take to have this greater Belgium? 🤡 a Brabant one? Zeeland? Guess at least 2 for the french flanders to keep things „balanced“

Psychedelic bullshit. We can’t even get our 4 regions to work decently together.

    6. Only have ever seen it when people in r/Belgium ask us what we think about.

Leave Greater Belgium for your local DnD session and give us a fully fledged Benelux Union please.

March, men! March for the New Belgian Empire!!!

      🍟🎷🍺 !!!

    10. Don’t really want the Dutch part except for Limburg and Zeeuws Vlaanderen.

Looks like a neat idea otherwise. Where do I vote?

    11. Chiming in from Breda (Noord-Brabant) here. ABSOLUTELY NOT. The cultural differences are huge, this will lead too the break-up of the country in days. Very different values on each side of the border. There’s no way we can include Zeeland in Greater Belgium.

    12. I guess adding a „pure“ French and a „pure“ Dutch regions will just add the mandatory complexity increase in our governing and administrative organisations that we so much crave for…

    13. My true vision for Belgium is the Leo Belgicus. Maybe call it „The Low Lands“ but I’d be uncertain if you need to include Denmark into that. The highest point of Denmark is half the hight of that of The Netherlands, so it’s quite a low country, language is close to Friesland, could be included.

If you check the town and street names of many places in northern France they are actually Dutch
