      What is the significance of this random village in Alaska and why should anyone care? I’m confused. Was this for a school project by some random child from this village?

      Yeah, without the Gulf Stream, Europe would be a much, much colder place.

      That is also why much of Europe can feel pretty bleak in winter: Very short days, a low sun angle, and long stretches of dark, grey weather.

      This is exactly the reason why that when the Gulf Stream current collapse later this century, Europe will be cooked!
