Letzte Woche nahm ich an der Modell-NATO-Veranstaltung der University of Kansas teil, die vom Allied Command Transformation der NATO durchgeführt wurde. Ich hatte die Gelegenheit, die Rolle des Ständigen Vertreters Schwedens zu übernehmen und nahm an einer realistischen Sitzung des Nordatlantikrats teil. Es war eine großartige Erfahrung und ich bin wirklich stolz auf das, was Schweden auf der Weltbühne leistet.
Ich bin sicher, ihr habt es wahrscheinlich satt, dass sich die Amerikaner entschuldigen, aber ich wollte auch sagen, dass es im Herzen des amerikanischen Volkes immer noch Raum für Liebe zu Schweden, der NATO und der Welt gibt. Nennen Sie mich hoffnungslos optimistisch, aber ich studiere Diplomatie und Internationale Beziehungen, um diese Liebe aufzubauen. Als chinesischer Amerikaner mit Erfahrung in den USA und China verstehe ich, was es bedeutet, Gräben zu überbrücken, die viele Menschen für unmöglich halten.
Letzten Sommer habe ich Schweden besucht, und ich erinnere mich, dass ich die amerikanische Flagge auf dem Dach des Grand Hotels wehen sah und berührt war, dass es in den Herzen der schwedischen Menschen immer noch Platz für Liebe zu den USA geben könnte. Meine Erfahrung in Schweden gab mir wirklich das Gefühl, dass es ein wunderschöner Ort mit freundlichen Menschen und einer tiefen Geschichte ist.

American politics has taken over my focus on swedish politics for me because of the severity, I don’t like that change at all because now that there’s elections coming I’m kinda lost.

I believe most Swedes, once they reflect on it, realize there is a difference between the American people and the current administration. The developments in the U.S. are more about neglected institutions and corrupted systems than necessarily about the American population itself.
That said, there’s no escaping the fact that what this administration is doing right now is shattering a world order. Unfortunately, trust in the U.S. has been destroyed for generations to come.

I’m sorry to say but they only fly that flag because it makes the hotel look more international. There’s a lot of animosity after the US tried to influence Greenland from Denmark, who despite their language sounding like someone talking w/ a hot potato in their mouth: are culturally brothers to Swedes. Not to mention everything else the US is doing internally to it’s own citizens. US culture permeates most countries, and a lot of Swedes do like visiting and even living in the US in normal times (well, there’s usually at least c. 100 in the NHL across the US and Canada lol), there isn’t that much „love in the swedish people’s hearts for the U.S.“… Here’s hoping the orange paedophile is kicked out soon enough!

I am so excited that we finally have a model UN here at Sweddit. I am really, really, really, really, really into Model UNs. They used to call me Model UN guy back in college… well that’s not… don’t research that.
Just remember that a logical, effective, common sense move flies in the very face of the United Nations itself: a fundamentally symbolic organization founded on the principles of high-minded rhetoric and empty gestures.
I will never stop LOL:ing at the fact that sweden only became a member in NATO after 70 years 😂, exactly when the US went full rogue authocracy, with the clowniest government seen in history. NATO is effectively a dead concept from the cold war era.
