Dam! They are coming back? I remember as a kid, when they closed down most of their franchises in Quebec (late 2000).

    2. Why? Tim Horton’s at every corner not enough already? Maybe they can make floor 1 Tim’s, Floor 2 Dunkin.

Target: „We had the worst Cnadian launch of any American company in history“

      Dunkin *“…hold my coffee“*

I’d love to know the reasoning behind this as well as the timing. What made them decide to do it now, what did they see in the market that they didn’t before and how are they going to compete with Tim Hortons, especially as a known American company during this time.

I remember growing up we had a Coffee Time, don’t see them much anymore but they had a banging white frost donut.

      Curious.

    5. I wonder, will they last as long as Target, or more like Liz Truss‘ head of lettuce?

    6. Nooooooo gtfo

Also their coffee is genuinely dish water. Also it’s over priced.

Dunkin Donuts is terrible, no idea why Canadians would go there when they open

Hey, if a US firm wants to pour a bunch of money into getting the leases, setting up the locations, and hiring for whatever amount of time they’re open? Come on in!

Now, why such a ubiquitously American brand thinks ***this*** is the time for a Canadian expansion, and that the market here is remotely open to it, I’m sure I don’t know. But it’s their money!

People saying to boycott Dunkin’s and go with Tim’s forget that Tim’s is also owned by foreigners. If you must buy coffee buy from the local small Ma and pop shop they could use your dollars not another multi million dollar company

    10. It’s not any better than Tim’s but if they hire Canadian I will switch forever. Tim’s exploits TFWs

Competition is good. You dont have to get coffee from Dunkin, but if this motivates Tim’s to straighten up and improve their quality, then this will be a cause to celebrate.

Can’t wait to have another American product to boycott in person🙃

Don’t forget to buy Canadian owned coffee (not Tim’s!). Places like second cup or local mom and pop shops are a great alternative

    13. Honestly if they take some of Tim Hortons profits I’m all for it . Tim’s needs a serious wake up call for their food quality and hiring practices

    14. We are susceptible to a donut takeover, since Tim’s quit giving a crap about quality.

    15. I look forward to this only because I hope they push Tim’s to be better. Tim’s is awful and the floor of quality is low.

    16. You know what, I think they might actually do okay. Tim Hortons has spent the last decade lowering the bar so much that Dunkin needs to bring a shovel to find it

Why? We don’t need another bad coffee and doughnut chain, we need a good one again, and (sorry Bostonians) Dunkin‘ ain’t it.

    18. Who’s the genius at dunkin that thinks that opening up in Canada right now is a good idea? Hell even when relations were good, Krispy Kreme and target couldnt make it up here. Their coffee is gross anyways.

      This is a wild strategy.

As others have pointed out there’s very low American support right now

But more importantly IMO, this place is complete trash

The couple times I went to Dunkin’s when I was in the US I was astonished at how bad the coffee was and how disgusting the food was as well.

I don’t see how it will survive here
