Now there is no where safe in the land corridor. It’ll only be a matter of time before the russians either do something desperate that sets them back further or continue to fed themselves into the slow agonizing grinder to maintain their foothold.

Would it be possible to link sites where you can actually read the article? Anything NOT behind paywall and adds and other things?

If this is an highway, it should be really easy to automate the drones.

      At least for trucks.

The drone just needs to fly through the highway (fixed coordinates and fixed image map) and target objects above a certain size. My Tesla already recognises trucks, so nothing new.

Civilians should be informed to keep distance and not use buses…

It is an horrible future. But completely possible with current tech.

This is a relatively rare instance of news in which a notable portion of their blogsphere isn’t even trying to pound copium. These capabilities are a major reason why their spring offensive so far has only resuled in net losses.

To give reference of why they’re so nervous, the Ukrainians have been able to score hits on targets traveling on the H20 highway north of Mariupol (main highway to Donetsk) and on the M14 west of the city. A year ago, those areas were completely safe and now places Ukraine hasn’t held for ~4 years are no longer safe.

It’s plausible they have fire control all the way to the Azov Sea, but given there are not many roads at all south of the M14 so no land route in the south is a palatable choice
