    2. That title is inaccurate. But yes, situation has improved. Still got a few hundred million people in poverty.

Comparing 2014 to the present is political propaganda.

If there was progress between 2014 and 2024, there would have been progress between 2004 and 2014 as well, and there would have been progress during the period from 1994 to 2004.

The difference is by ₹20-30/-. There was a very good documentary and a report by some website I forgot. The parameters of definition of poverty was changed. So say people who were below poverty line by ₹20-30/- were suddenly not anymore when the way we defined poverty changed.

The electricity and toilet and all definitely improved.

Can you explain how the title is actually related to the visualizations? It feels like the graphics are mostly showing quality-of-life and infrastructure improvements, while the title is conflating that with directly lifting people out of poverty as if the two are automatically mutually inclusive.

Better sanitation, electricity access, and banking access are obviously positive developments and can absolutely contribute to long-term economic growth and better living conditions. But those metrics alone don’t necessarily prove that large numbers of people have been lifted out of poverty financially. Someone can still have access to electricity, a toilet, and a bank account while struggling with low wages, unemployment, food insecurity, debt, or an overall poor standard of living financially.

This Infograph is a bit misleading. Access to a toilet is not lifting people out of poverty. With a huge gap between the super rich and the majority of the country, people are still finding it a struggle to survive day to day. Access to clean water, health and education is still an issue for the majority of the population. Any statistics provided by the BJP should be taken with a pinch of salt.

The colours are wrong for Punjab and Haryana in thr last two maps, making them seem much worse than they were.

The electrification rate are flawed in India compared to others.

A village is officially electrified if just 10% of its households have an electricity connection. This means that in a village of 500 homes, if 50 houses have power, the government can legally check that village off the list as „complete,“ even if 450 families are still sitting in the dark.

Curious, I thought southern idea was poorer than the north but it seems like I got it backwards.

I am a bit skeptical of the statistic about access to electricity. Does it mean that everyone in the slums has their informal housing connected to the network ?

    12. Bro please use the same colourpalate with the same values, otherwise we have a distortion. First picture full green with values above 70% and also above 95%
