JWST is a foldable space mirror. That shows multiple major problems with deploying large mirrors in space. It’s expensive. The mirrors experience micrometeoroid impacts [more info.](https://science.nasa.gov/blogs/webb/2022/06/08/webb-engineered-to-endure-micrometeoroid-impacts/) It’s difficult to see how the design could scale up that much.
