Created in Excel. Data generated at a facility which calibrates the scale and BP monitor quarterly.

    2. That seems crazy to me, how is your weight soo seasonal, but at the same time your plot looks so smooth.

I feel like if I were to plot my weight it would look a lot more noisy. I think my day to day variations are easily in the 2-4 lbs range. How does this plot look so clean? Do you measure your weight daily and then calculate the weekly average? That’s kind of my best explanation.

Also I’m curious why your weight is so seasonal. Do you do a lot of outdoor activity and live in region with extremely seasonal weather? Or are you into fitness and this is somewhat intentional with bulking up and cutting again for the summer?

The seasonal swings are weirdly relatable. I track mine too and every year there’s always that “I swear I’m doing the same thing” phase where the graph completely disagrees with me. The 2024 drop is honestly pretty impressive though.

Have you tried adding BP as a secondary axis? Maybe a little messy, but the correlation would be neat to see.

    5. The weight chart isn’t flotsam and jetsam – you had 15 pound seasonal fluctuations every year – is that due to no winter exercise? Regardless, it was very systematic, not random.

And you have a couple very steep weight loss periods in 2023 and I guess your oral surgery more recently. Just be sure you know why you’re losing weight and either keep it up or address the concern.
