      I think they are in the process of rebranding the mission into an anti russia mission. Azerbaijan is usefull in that sense that they can keep em there on the az excuse.

      Really shows how much of a pathetic joke the EU is when a dictator from a tiny country across the world could easily mock them like this and he’s 100% right to do so.

      Let’s also not forget about the Azeri border invasions 2022-2023.

      He’s not wrong. Plus our intentions with Armenia were clear, to return lands occupied from us illegally. Azerbaijan tried every avenue possible to pursue a diplomatic resolution through the UN, trying to garner support from the EU, but no. Unfortunately and ultimately, might is right won justice in the end.

      Nothing more, nothing less.

      What a clown. What’s the point of this hateful, warmongering rhetoric when he is supposed to sign a peace treaty with Armenia this year? The only theory I can think of is that he recently got too close to the EU, so he needs to prove to daddy Putin that he didn’t abandon Kremlin by performatively slandering Brussels.

      Why would Azerbaijan want to take Armenia? It has no resources and subduing it’s people would be a constant effort.

      Yeah I don’t think he understands what an observer is. And they continue to do so now.

      Their job is to monitor the border and keep an eye on things so that if any skirmish should break out, they will be able to report on who started it. Before they were deployed, Azerbaijan was making incursions into actual Armenian territory and doing so under the pretense that we were starting the fighting. Without a third-party to keep an eye on things, and Russia simultaneously occupied in Ukraine and more or less giving him card Blanche, he could have very easily invaded Armenia and taken the corridor by force and justified it by saying we started shooting first.

      These monitors are protecting us by keeping the records straight as to who the aggressor is.
