    1. this European Quality of Government index measures mainly satisfaction with local/national institutions…

    2. Wait I’m not trying to diss Finland or anything but didn’t they join kind of late? How did they help build the union?

    3. I’m from Vilnius and yes, people here typically are very pro – EU. Maybe because we can compare. We have neighbour just 30 km to east, which is not in EU, and people clearly can see what is better.

Hungary is deeply attached to European funds and has a special place for them in its heart.

Well, I would add the most obvious effect: regions which benefited the most from EU are attached to the UE. The Spanish and Polish „miracle“ economic development is clearly linked to European subsidies, and the population appears to remember it. Ireland also benefited a lot from the common market and the free circulation of goods & individuals which help to maintain peace with Northern Ireland and to attract international companies.

Regions which benefited less from the UE are less attached. It can be because the country was already developed and gave more subsidies than it received (France, Netherlands, Sweden, Austria). Or because the effects of subsidies were less obvious in peripheral European areas which struggle to develop (Southern Italy, Bulgaria). Greece also remembers the role of the Troika in the harsh austerity policies it had to implement.

French and Italians seem to forget how much the EU has benfited them. I wonder what they believe would have happened if they had been alone during the last decades. Their cultures would be already erased by American culture and their export market would be just Monaco and San Marino, maybe the Vatican too.

    7. I’m not sure I understand the sentence with „The Institutional Halo“ saying „Physical Proximity to our democratic hubs clearly strenghthens our shared identity“.

Then why the attachement to Europe is te lowest there? Shouldn’t it be the highest?

    8. Hello, if you are only going to post statistics related to Europe, please post them under the Europe subs Thank you.

    9. Spain loves the EU and we keep getting told we don’t because we aren’t willing to enter the war economy 🙁

    10. As a hungarian, it’s the best feeling ever to finally call myself a european with pride instead of sarcasm, I’m so glad our nation once again joined the European Union.

As a French man, I can tell you that we don’t like Europe taking the same route as USA and being controlled by AIPAC equivalent lobbies.
Recently the double standard was exposed when Israel economic ties were not severed despite crimes against humanity, murders of women and children, assassination of 300+ press members and targeting of UN bodies. Instead, we welcome those assholes in Eurovision. Well France 🇫🇷 has had enough of it, Spain 🇪🇸 , Ireland 🇮🇪 and Italy 🇮🇹 as well.
We want Europe of human rights and enforced international law. Meanwhile, fuck Europe and Israel, same entity, different face.
