Most of the bear-related damage since last year has been in Iwate and Akita. I understand that these areas are heavily affected by aging populations and depopulation, and that the terrain is deeply mountainous, but the scale of the damage is far greater than in other regions. There must be some additional factors at play that set this area apart from the rest.
