    1. The old men in the parliament need to learn that denying same-sex marriage isn’t going to make gay people suddenly decide to be straight and have kids.

I very much wish they get the recognition they seek, but there’s no way in hell the conservative Japanese government is going to give it.

But I also applaud them for trying because every time someone does, it increases the pressure on the Japanese government to stop acting like a bunch of narrow minded out of touch old men, which they are.

One day someone will make the same request and it will be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.

      So don’t give up folks.

Why on earth would they want to leave France for Japan? Here I am stuck in Japan thinking how amazing it would be to live in Paris…

These are the same legislative mfs who reluctantly revised the age of sexual consent to 16 from 13!

Yeah, it might take a while for them to come around on this one.

Someone has to make a change and start the movement. Glad these two are braving it. 🙂

I hate seeing this every so months or years here because this should be a nothing burger. We have bigger issues in the world than to legally allow people of the same sex to be miserable together the rest of their lives. That should be a universal right. Hopefully this finally gets recognized and we can move on.

The issue is currently under deliberation in the Supreme Court and has support from many regional high courts, so it’s not as hopeless a cause as many believe

That would be like, telling the royal family in japan to acknowledge female heir as next queen.
